Hi guys! So last night at 3am, I was thinking about what my next blog post should be about, and I had this sudden urge to create a dark, dramatic eye look with a cool and warm color. I think it creates a beautiful contrast and definitely screams drama.
This would work for a range of eye colors as well, since it consists of both cool and warms shades.Try this look for prom, an evening out, or even clubbing. I paired it with a medium toned pink lip gloss, but it would also look stunning with a nude lip. Let me know what you think, and if you decide to re-create this look, please share...I would love to check it out!
As you can see, this smoky eye is lighter in the inner corners to bring light into your eyes, helping them not get lost in the dark makeup. It also helps your eyes appear a tad larger.
Here is a map of where I applied the different eyeshadows:
Before applying any eye shadows, prep your eyes with an eye shadow primer. My favorite is the Eye Primer Potion by Urban Decay. This will help the colors appear brighter, prevent creasing, and will provide you with superior all day wear. Trust me, it does NOT budge!
- Half Baked by Urban Decay (Mid-Toned Shimmery Gold)
- Navy Blue Shade from BH Cosmetics 120 Palette (Matte)
- Carbon by MAC (Matte Black)
- Black Liquid Liner by Wet N Wild (Dries Matte)
- Flesh-Toned Shade from BH Cosmetics 120 Palette (Matte)
Make sure that all colors are properly blended. Use a fluffy blending brush to blur out any harsh edges.
I then proceeded with two coats of black mascara (One by One by Maybelline), MAC blush in Dame, and a mid tone pink lip gloss by ELF.
I really hope you enjoyed this look. If you want to see future posts like this one, please let me know! I appreciate your feedback. :)
