Silver Lining

Hey, hey, hey! TGIF, right?! Is it just me, or is this month going by at the speed of light? This year deserves a speeding ticket. Funny how time goes by so slowly when you're a kid, and now all you want for Christmas is more time on the clock! Oh well...C'est la vie!

Here I have yet another holiday appropriate look with one of my all time favorite combos: silver and pink! It's fun, yet elegant in my opinion. The eye look is pretty simple to do as well. All you need are white, silver and black shadows (shimmers look best for the holidays) and some simple blending. These are probably the easiest colors to blend, since they are monochromatic. Add some glitter (of course) for an even more sparkly, look-at-me gaze!

FACE:
  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Buff
  • MAC Studio Fix Powder in N4

EYES:
  • Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
  • Hard Candy Eyeshadow Duo in Bad Reputation
  • NYX Eyeshadow in Dune
  • NYX Eyeshadow in Black
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil in Zero
  • Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara in Extreme Black
  • Ardell Lashes

CHEEKS:
  • ELF Studio Blush in Pink Passion

LIPS:
  • Lime Crime Lipstick in Centrifuchsia
“Clouds may come, but clouds must go, and they all have a silver lining. For behind each cloud you know, the sun, or moon, is shining.”
I really hope you guys enjoy this look! I know it's a bit simple, but I've been in a creative rut lately. Don't you just hate that? I need some inspiration!

Anyway, on a more personal note...I am so glad that I am pretty much done with gift shopping! I love buying gifts for people, but I hate the crowds! I wish I would've started sooner, then I could have ordered everything online without them risking being late!

I also have a couple of gifts under the tree from my hubby and I am desperately trying to figure out what they are, but I'm stumped! Womp womp.

I hope you are all doing well and that your holiday shopping is going according to plan! Have a safe and fun weekend guys! MUAH!

  8. Don't we all want to get Christmas shopping done early? I say every year that I'm going to start early Nov, but it never happens!

Love the look by the way, wish I could get whites to show up on my skin...they always just end up looking patchy.

  9. This is so gorgeous, the hot pink lip is too fabulous for words! My family doesn't buy gifts until like 2 days before Christmas.. if at all, lol. We don't even have a tree yet :(

  11. Creative ruts are the WORST, I feel you on that girl. But at the same time there's nothing wrong with doing beautiful, wearable looks and this is exactly that. In fact I might even use this look as inspiration for my makeup tonight.

If you're stuck, sometimes I find that removing yourself from the makeup world and diving in to fantasy movies, or sci-fi movies, or even reading or doing something else can get your creative juices flowing. Music videos are great too. Historical eras are fantastic inspiration as well. Or even try to improve on old looks you've done, though that's hard to do in your case. One other site I like to frequent is www.kuler.com - great for palette inspiration. Hope that helps a bit! Happy holidays <3
