Back in August, I was contacted by Wantable and reviewed their monthly subscription box. You can check out my review here. I was super impressed and I was contacted by them once again and I was asked if I'd be interested in reviewing another box for you guys, and I thought, "Sure, why not?". I wanted to see if the next box was just as good as the last one or if I was going to be disappointed this time around. Read on to find out what I thought about October's Wantable box!
Some or all products shown in this post may have been provided by the said brand(s) for potential review and/or use. For more information, please read my DISCLAIMER.
In this month's box, I received 4 full sized products and one deluxe sized sample.
From Lise Watier: "LIMITED EDITION:.A nail lacquer with a cap that has a small light to illuminate the nails for a more accurate application. Beauty Tip: To really bring out the color of your nail lacquer, start with one layer and give it time to dry before putting on a second coat."
This nail polish is such a pretty color for the fall and winter seasons! It's a warm purple that leans a little on the brown side and is loaded with multi-colored sparkles. The first coat is pretty sheer, but with a second or third coat, it's pretty much opaque. I believe this would look stunning layered over a black nail polish! At first, I didn't notice that this nail polish has a built-in LED light in the cap. I wondered why there was a weird groove in the cap and a rubbery button on the top. I decided to press it, and I was so pleasantly surprised! Not many people paint their nails in the dark, but it definitely helps to see where you are applying the polish. Very cool idea! This retails for $13.
From Michael Marcus: "Our superb eyeshadows offer incredible staying power and strong, blendable pigments. Beauty Tip: Use this to accent other shades or wear alone for a subtle wash of color."
This eyeshadow by Michael Marcus comes in a beautifully packaged compact and is in a medium mauvey-purple shade. This isn't a shade I would normally wear, but it's perfect for someone who loves purpley-browns. I gave this to my aunt-in-law and she fell in love! It's matte, super pigmented and blends pretty darn well. Most of us know how notorious matte eyeshadow can be, but this one is unlike those naughty ones. This retails for $24.
From Cailyn Cosmetics: "Expressive eyes in an instant! This liquid eyeliner draws on easily to line and define the eyes. This long lasting liquid liner won't smudge, smear or fade away. Beauty Tip: Apply in a thin line at lashes, or smudge it into your lashline before it dries for a softer, more office-friendly look."
The first thing that drew me into this liquid liner was the pretty artwork on the packaging! Even the bottle is a looker, it has a long and sleek handle that makes it look really sophisticated. When I realized that the liner was brown, I was a tiny bit disappointed. I typically wear black liner because I prefer that bolder look. I went ahead and tried this out a few times and I actually really liked the result! It still defines my eyes, but in a slightly subtler way. It brings out my eye color and upon wearing it I noticed that it has a slight shimmer to it, which gives it some dimension and makes it less boring. The one thing that I did not like is that while it is still wet, it burns the skin on my eyelids! I don't know if it's because my skin is super sensitive or if some ingredient is a bit harsh, but that really turns me off. That feeling goes away once it dries though. I'll still wear it on days when I want a softer look. This retails for $15.
From Japonesque: "Conveniently sized for portability, the Travel Angled Foundation Brush is an essential tool for creating a truly flawless foundation finish. Synthetic bristles easily wash clean while maintaining their shape. Beauty Tip: The flat brush shape smoothes cream and liquid foundation products over the face while minimizing pores and fine lines. The distinctive tapered, angled edge allows for detailed application around eyes, and crevices around the nose. Perfect for building color for full coverage or sheering out color for transparent coverage."
I LOVE THIS LITTLE BRUSH! I normally use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply my foundation, but this is great to throw in my bag if I ever need a touch up or take with me on vacation. I love that the bristles are synthetic which makes it easy to clean. it's soft to the touch and is gentle on my face. Unlike most flat face brushes, this one has an angle that makes getting into those hard to reach places a breeze. It leaves my skin looking airbrushed and almost flawless. No visible streak marks which is an A+ in my book! This retails for $25.
From Skiin: "A solution that tightens and lifts sagging skin and wrinkles in a matter of minutes, Skiin Instant Skin Tightener & Line Filler is a natural solution to cosmetic surgery. The combination of carefully chosen ingredients when applied daily will help the skin regain a radiant and younger appearance. Key benefits include reducing the depth of wrinkles around the eyes, instant tightening and lifting of the skin, and making skin appear smoother and more uniform. Apply a very small amount to the skin to avoid residue."
This is the deluxe sample that came in my box. I don't have many noticeable wrinkles on my face to test this out, so I decided to put it to the test and try it on my palm which is loaded with lines! I wanted to see if this really could live up to its claims and fill in lines. As you can see in the before and after picture, it definitely did fill in the lines and made the skin appear more supple and young. It dries matte and smooth, although it feels a bit heavy. This stuff actually surprised me! It works well and I think it's fair to say that it lives up to it's claims. Sample was free. but the full sized product retails for $39.95.
Once again, I am very satisfied with Wantable and I will get a lot of use of most of the products in my box. My box retailed at $77, which pays for itself. As I mentioned in my last Wantable post, this monthly subscription box is $36 for recurring boxes, or $40 for a one time box. Albeit a little more expensive than most subscription boxes, it's for a good reason.
