Oil Slick Inspired Eyes

Have you ever looked at an oil slick or spill in the light and have been mesmerized by the pretty colors it reflects? I sure have, and it has inspired me to create this look. Although it is a form of pollution, I tend to find beauty and inspiration in almost everything. Call it weird, but that's me! This was pretty difficult to achieve, but I'm pretty satisfied with the end result. This was merely experimental, but you can totally wear this out at night if you want!

Inspiration Pics:

  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Buff
  • MAC Studio Fix Powder in NC20

  • BH Cosmetics 120 Eyeshadow Palette, 2nd Edition
  • Rimmel Glam Eyes Mascara in Black

  4. Love it! You know, the founder of Urban Decay cosmetics had the same inspiration.. she wanted to encourage women to find the beauty and inspiration in even the most seemingly uninspired things around us.. Which is why their eyeshadows have names like "Smog" and "Oil Slick" etc..

(I got to sit in on an UD training session at work last week and it was so cool!)

Anyways.. this look is STUNNING! Seriously.. stunning! I think you captured the pictures perfectly.

And I'm so glad you enjoyed my post! You totally deserve it! ♥
