Why you gotta be so mean? *Taylor Swift Inspired Look*

Hi everyone! If you know me personally, you know how much I adore Taylor Swift. Not only is she gorgeous, but she is talented, down to earth and genuine. There aren't many other artists out there quite like her. So naturally, I decided to create a look based off of her makeup worn in her music video for "Mean". It's a lovely, classic look that would look great on mostly everyone!

I didn't just try to recreate her makeup, but I also contoured my face and gave myself "virtual contacts" to resemble her :)

MUSIC VIDEO:



FACE:
  • Max Factor Pan Stick in Nude Ivory
  • Revlon Photo Ready Concealer
  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Ivory to highlight
  • NYC Loose Translucent Powder
  • Matte Medium Brown eyeshadow to contour nose and cheeks

EYES:
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base
  • Matte grey cream eyeshadow (unknown brand) all over lid
  • Light, shimmery gold on inner corners (BH Cosmetics 120 Eyeshadow Palette, 2nd Edition)
  • Matte warm, medium brown on outer corners ( BH Cosmetics, can be matte or shimmery, it's up to you)
  • Matte black eyeshadow (BH Cosmetics)
  • Matte white eyeshadow on browbone (BH Cosmetics)
  • Wet N Wild Liquid Liner in Black
  • Rimmel Soft Kohl Liner in white
  • Rimmel Glam Eyes Mascara in Black
  • Half lashes on outer corners of eyes
EYEBROWS:
  • Use founation or concealer mixed with a bit of a pale yellow or gold shadow to lighten your brows.
  • Fill them in with a light brown or blonde pencil, I used Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel

CHEEKS:
  • Maybelline Mineral Powder Blush in True Peach

LIPS:
  • NYX Round Lipstick in Snow White (aka best red lipstick EVER!)
  • MAC Lipglass in Clear on center of lips for a poutier look

    I totally see the resemblance (it's in the eyes) and I would REALLY REALLY love to see a tutorial for this look. I was approached to do a pro-photoshoot today and one of the looks is a Taylor Swift one so I'm trying to do lots of research! This is gorgeous also, goes without saying!!

    This is so naturally stunning! What did you do to your eyes....doesn't look like contacts, but it looks so natural! I said "wait...I thought she had brown eyes...." me being a brown eyed girl myself, I always notice that kinda stuff, lol!

    I don't care for her music (at least I tell people I don't!) but I respect her as a person. She's poised, genuine, down to earth and very talented - especially given the examples of teen pop stars she's had to work with! I think she's fab and so are you! <3
