Femme Fatale Cosmetics Look/Review/Swatches

Hello, again! A few weeks ago, the lovely and talented Mandy from prettymaking.blogspot.com posted some swatches from an Australian indie mineral makeup company named Femme Fatale Cosmetics. You all know how much I love and support indie makeup companies that offer unique shades, and Femme Fatale does not disappoint! They specialize in duo-chrome shades that are to die for. I immediately fell in love with the colors and swatches that Mandy is oh so good at, and I gave in...I'm weak. I placed my first order with FF, and I simply couldn't wait for my package to arrive! It took just under two weeks for my order to arrive from Australia to Los Angeles, CA. A lot quicker than I expected!

I immediately started to play with these insanely gorgeous shadows, and came up with this look. I created it on a whim, so I apologize for the lack of photos and no full face shots.

Spirit Bond on lid and lower lid, Amber Eyes on inner corner and brow bone,  Fire Bloom on crease,

Femme Fatale offers various product sizes, which are listed below:

Sample baggies, 1/8 tsp of product - $1.10 AUD ($1.16 USD)

Full size jar (no sifter), 5g of product - $5.75 AUD ($6.07 USD)
Mini-jar (no sifter), 3g of product - $3.00 AUD ($3.16 USD)
Mini-jar (sifter), 3g of product - $3.10 AUD ($3.27 USD)

(USD prices are an estimate using an online currency converter and might be a few cents off).

I went ahead and ordered the mini-jars without a sifter, and it's enough product for me to last a long while. A little definitely goes a long way with loose shadows.
It was extremely difficult for me to capture the beauty of these eyeshadows. The duo-chrome finishes are spectacular and so intricate. You're just going to have to trust me on this!

Website Description: A pale columbia blue with a prominent golden duochrome and subtle pink shimmer.
My Thoughts: Smooth and very blendable, but not the most pigmented. Would look amazing as an inner corner highlight with a smokey eye.

Website Description: A gilded golden eye shadow with silver and pink sparkles, and subtle flecks of blue.
My Thoughts: This color is so complex! I've never seen another gold quit like it. Definitely unique.

Website Description: A vibrant royal purple eye shadow with a soft red duochrome finish.
My Thoughts: Although this is a gorgeous purple shade, I was a little underwhelmed with the application. I had to use two coats to get it to be as opaque as the others swatched. But the complex mix of colors makes up for it!

Swatched over GDE Foil Me
Website Description: A black based eye shadow with a colour shifting shimmer.
My Thoughts: I love blackened shades, and this one is so complex, it can go with just about any other color. This was probably the most difficult one to photograph. It has a strong color shift. Sometimes it looks green, and sometimes it looks purple.

Website Description: The Nightmare is an eggplant purple base with intense golden green glimmers and sparkles.
My Thoughts: Feast your eyes on this marvelous eyeshadow. I almost hyperventilated when my eyes had the honor to look upon it. It is for sure, the opposite of a nightmare. It's intense and just perfect!

Website Description: A deep midnight blue with strong purple undertones and a shimmery golden finish.
My Thoughts: My favorite of the bunch!  If it were possible to marry an eyeshadow, this would be the one I'd say "I do" to. It's so me, and I just want to bathe in it. The formula for Unholy, The Nightmare and Spirit Bond are all very similar, if not the same and it is the BEST formula I have yet to try with mineral makeup. They are so creamy, dense yet light at the same time, extremely pigmented, and blends like butter. Yes, I am in love.

Website Description: Fire Bloom is a mid tone rose pink blush with coral undertones and a flattering copper gold shimmer.
My Thoughts: I totally regret not buying a jar of this blush! It's like NARS Orgasm blush on crack! It's so intense and pigmented so a bit goes a long way. It can be used as an eyeshadow and lip product too!

FREE SAMPLES
Website Description:  A very pale coral with peach and pink tones, and a subtle green finish.
My Thoughts: Amber Eyes is simply gorgeous. The green color shift is so unexpected, but fits so well and makes an inner corner highlight a little extra special.

Website Description: A deep mulberry with bold teal blue shimmer.
My Thoughts: Wow! Another totally beautiful shade. Purple and teal are two of my favorite colors, and this shade is a complete package. It's bold,  shimmery and lovely.

I hope you all enjoyed this review/look/swatch post. What are your thoughts on Femme Fatale? Have you tried them out before? If so, what are your favorite shades? I am definitely planning on placing another order soon. It's safe to say that I am hooked!

Hope you guys are well and happy. Take care, and I'll see you again soon!

  2. Wow, I have honestly never seen shadows like some of these (Nightmare & Amber Eyes) which is really saying something. Great of you to spotlight this awesome indie company. And, as always (surprise, surprise) I absolutely love that look. You really know how to play to your strengths with color. Your amber eyes look so stunning with this - they are what make this look so gorgeous. On a different colored eye this wouldn't look nearly so warm and inviting - I definitely envy your ability to wear dark looks like this with such ease.

  11. I placed an order too, after receiving the Press Kit and immediately falling in love with the shades! I ordered sample sizes only, though, because they're more likely to finish. I can't wait for the mail to arrive! Gorgeous look, as usual ;)
